Chapter 35

Ivo & Starship learn that the Canalmen trade computers stolen from Zoxi with Setin. Once he visits the Canals, he's told about new prisoners, then recognizes the two and bails them out from Pissfire. Setin then takes the couple into his Hideout (an old quarry) near TETA vault where he lives together with Tassi and a large camp of the Ash Sculptors. Tassi hires the couple and gives them a chance of living in the Hideout instead of being captured and sentenced by those who are looking for them outside. He gives them anti-radiation & clean-up medicine to search the Zoxi Plant for a better, more valuable equipment since they are already experienced explorers. They agree as they need to get into the place anyway, keeping their own purposes a secret, though. Once in the Plant, they finally find the missing software and successfully read data from the Discovery disk through Rossie's laptop's only special socket. They learn about the Heatwave's cause which terrifies them. When they leave Zoxi, the Heatwave hits again burning them to the ground and melting their fireproof briefcase with the laptop & the disk into the main gate's pillar. The item remains there unnoticed during the next couple of years.
To be continued in Heatwave II.

Chapter 34

Borrg wants to make a deal with the Ori Monastery but can't find a way in. He then learns from an ex construction worker and KAPPA's bio-experiments survivor that there was a tunnel built from a south-western harbor to Ori and hidden under the sea (currently under a swamp). Borrg sends Monti along with Salt'n'Pepper to the tunnel. There are seemingly inactive railways and comfortable roads. They also spot weird signs engraved by the Ash Sculptors in various places such as under a crashed plane's wing, a cliff-side fire camp, and inside the tunnel too. They find an abandoned camp in the end of the tunnel. A cyber-monk security kills Salt'n'Pepper while Monti runs away all way back to the entry. Monks turn the electricity grid on and send a train to catch Monti, but the grid overloads. Monti climbs a ladder towards the surface but is clubbed at the top and falls back into the tunnel. He however recognized a man who hit him in a split second but then became unconscious. Monks took him into the monastery's prison immediately.
To be continued.

Chapter 33

Ivo persuades Starship to steal the Discovery disc from O'Brother (all together reside in PSI), then to get the laptop, Xadir pills, anti-radiation suits and travel south to find an entry to the Institute in search for seemingly the last remained piece of the puzzle - an additional computer to study the complete data about a cause of the Heatwave. It turns out that there's still the 4th add-on needed - a software called Zoxi v.2 which will allow to decrypt and read the data. They then have to drive east to get into the Zoxi Plant but they are already short of Xadir and wanted by PSI, army and hackers for the Discovery disc thievery. The couple looks for a shelter in Canals but is then captured and held hostage by the Canalmen.
To be continued.

Chapter 32

Shrineville is a former prison, currently a house for a majority of criminals who survived both a riot and the Heatwave.
Due to a sabotage, prisoners blew out a furnace, the facility it was in and an administration building. When guards, police and other forces gathered to fight back, the Heatwave struck. Prisoners hid in The Canals which were build to desiccate Zoxi area. Some of The Canals ran below Shrineville but were purposely clogged with concrete so the prisoners couldn't escape.
Heatwave fires destroyed Zoxi and winds brought radiation over Shrineville. They had no choice but build an underground settlement in The Canals. One of old prisoners revealed the location of a luxury subdivision (which was turned into an automatically guarded vault during his imprisonment). A few prisoners risked their lives to go out, brought canned food to The Canals but died soon after due to radiation.
Worsening conditions which include lack of food forced the others to dig underground and find the best spot to leave the radiated zone so they could live outside. Once they did, they used junk materials taken from the ruined subdivision to build their own settlement near by. They also discovered an entrance to the ETA vault built under the old houses. They began digging towards the vault hoping to find a real treasure.
Men imprison prostitutes (who were brought to jail for the prisoners' joy before the sabotage) to make them pregnant and rise children. One day, the group led by Pissfire saw a helicopter (with Ivo and O'Brother on the deck).
To be continued.

Chapter 31

When a pilot, a soldier and Ivo fly over the cruiser, the helicopter begins malfunctioning then crashes into mud near the ship. Ivo manages to grab the black box into his bag before the crash. He leaves the chopper balancing on its propeller. He walks on the ship deck then goes down to the land. Ivo leaves the crash scene and a shipwreck but he surely contacts an exotic virus possibly brought by one of former passengers.
At a shore, Ivo meets Tassi, a local drug dealer who sells him a medicine. Tassi takes Ivo towards the Lighthouse as the drug dealer had to do a business there. They dropped Ivo near ETA vault and let him walk towards the Meadow Hole. Ivo gives O'Brother the disc. Highly rewarded, both return to PSI.
A helicopter takes them over a few important, still to be explored locations such as ETA vault, The Canals, Shrineville jail and Zoxi chemical waste dump.
After arrival, Ivo notices Starship moved into his room replacing his former roommate Steel who left with Rossi. Starship reveals that the laptop operating system requires a connection to another computer and the second hard drive to give access to all the data. They already discovered the other hard drive is the Discovery black box. Ivo didn't tell them he had found it but gave to O'Brother.

Chapter 30

O'Brother talks about his first days of surviving Heatwave with his ex-gf Fuckie. Later, him and Ivo get on a helicopter to fly over the sea of mud towards the Discovery. Ivo slides on a rope to hack into the space shuttle and search for a black box which is supposed to have all the recent, pre-Heatwave satellite data unavailable on the surface of the planet. The black box accumulators are running out of power so he needs to deliver the device to the military base as soon as possible. He calls the chopper and climbs on the board. They want to have a look at a cruise liner sunk near the shore. Already looted is known to be a habitat of an exotic virus brought by one of the passengers so they won’t land there. However, a severe accident happens next.

Chapter 29

Ivo makes his way into the military base at the Meadow Hole, which used to be an old airport. He's drawn to the flight control tower's powerful look. He meets major Seth Kabooze whom he talks the details of O'Brother's request with. Ivo gets an accommodation in the Hangar 03 for two nights. He meets Kabooze again in the tower. He tells him about the city near OMEGA and recommends him to visit a woman named Derreney Pax who lives in Wallen & Trips if he wants to do a beneficial bartering. Major also talks about the Institute, radiation and suggests that the source of the disaster doesn't come from the planet. Apparently, major had an access to the latest satellite pictures taken before the Heatwave but he won't talk the topic with just a 'civilian'. He also says they lost touch with TAU which became an individual military site and they fought with Gasoliners or other bandits near the vault. Army used to use a military range near the Institute but it's too radiated due to the explosion at the Institute to exercise over there.
Ivo visits a canteen and becomes a target of aggression for the local cadets. Kabooze enters the scene and cuts it short. He also sends Ivo for a short gym training to the captain Prank (who decides to visit Ivo also after hours to practice some other exercises with him).
Ivo explores the base and finds an underground fuel warehouse guarded by a scary military robot. O'Brother joins Kabooze and they meet with Ivo to talk the Discovery operation.

Chapter 28

Zen with her team explore the city of Walambi near OMEGA. They get to Xennon 2 hotel to talk to insurgents. They are led to the local boss DogDow who is searching for a teleporter possibly left at the bottom of a shelter. She owns a diary of a scientist who built the machine. She sent a few of her people to the shelter, but all of them were killed at the 3rd level of the shelter. Once the secret was revealed, DogDown forces Zen to do the task threatening her with armed guards. The two return to OMEGA to pack and arm, then go back to the west. They see The Ash Sculptors as well as a cowboy-like food trader on their way to the shelter. They make it to the lowest level, find the warehouse which is a real treasury. They found a body of the scientist as well as...

Chapter 27

There's a conference in PSI led by Molok. Spokesmen of a few other vaults come in to talk about a conflict between OMEGA and SIGMA vaults. SIGMA cut off any contact with others and refuses to take any more kids inside. They also threw out Rossie. OMEGA claims that TAU steals supplies sent from KAPPA and so they don't receive all the requested items. There's a suggestion that Gasoliners want to gain access to OMEGA to attack SIGMA and make it their base along with rising children to make them all survive. Zen, Eclipse and a few others request a transfer from PSI to OMEGA to build a communication installation and explore the site around on their own. Molok informs all gathered people about a danger of the disease and army occupying The Lighthouse.

Chapter 26

Monti decides to walk towards Ori along the seacost. Once he sees the monastery he takes out the binos and observes the rocks. He sees an airstrip and a satellite antenna. He also sees somebody trying to land on the rocks using a Xylin machine but monk guards shoot at the guy. He can't enter the monastery as there's no way from the lad to get inside. He sees HiFive with the team who were exploring near by and return to the camp. They dropped him at the camp where he stayed for the night at the house of a transsexual called Little Lucy. A courier who visits the camp gives Monti a lift to KAPPA the next day.

Chapter 25

Monti recovers and talks to a woman who lives in Village X and who lays on a bed near him. She tells him about dead bodies of infected women whom he contacted before. She also talks about the past of the Village which was an expensive seaside health resort. Monti learns about a distillation as well as Tassi's business. Then Monti is forced to leave the Lighthouse without Ivo who's still sick.
Ivo learns that a guy with amputated legs laying in bed in the same room is nicknamed Wombat. He's the lost explorer who lived in TAU and who was previously hired by O'Brother to bring him the Discovery hard drive. He was sucked by mud.

Chapter 24

Both O'Brother and Borrg have no ocntact with their business representatives (Ivo and Monti). O'Brother learns about the disease as well as soldiers in The Lighthouse.
Borrg visits people in his camp to see new faces. He listens to a story of Konik who talks about the beginning of Heatwave then recalls the doctors in an experimental laboratory replaced his eye with a laser gunpoint. He suggests they capture people from the wasteland to turn them into cyborgs and send to highly radiated areas and collapsed shelters to explore and bring valuable items to KAPPA for a unofficial trading. Borrg talks about an anti-radiation medicine which is being illegally tested in the laboratory.

Chapter 23

The Lighthouse is occupied by military doctors and it turns out this entire place is a quarantine set up against the nearby source of the disease. When they make a mandatory check up on Monti, he turns out infected as well as Ivo! Both are held & given a medical treatment in the Lighthouse. The drug dealer Tassi (who provides the only medicine to cure the disease) watches them from a distance when doing a business with the surgeons. Monti gets cured faster and he’s told to leave the Lighthouse immediately. He’s waiting for Ivo in the nearby rocks but Ivo isn’t that well yet. Then Tassi comes in and hijacks Monti for a ransom.

Chapter 22

Starship has no contact with Ivo but she worries the recent news of the disease on Ivo's way. People in PSI commit suicides more often due to an extended period of time spent underground. These are replaced with women from OMEGA who already have birth or survivors from the wasteland. These usually knew about valuable locations and shared information for just for food and having a safe place to stay.
Steel reveals Rossie gave birth to a son and they will soon move to OMEGA wheer all the kids stay reach a certain age.

Chapter 21

Monti visits Green'o'Bean to present Borrg's trading offer. He meets HiFive and he informs him of a disease in Village X. Ivo comes across Monti when he stays at the Gasoline Men settlement but they don’t talk yet.
Monti’s car has a serious malfunction in the middle of a burnt forest. He leaves it and needs to walk to the destination place which is still about 60 km from the forest. He finds a pile of dead female bodies near a bridge so inspects them on a short distance looking for any useful stuff.
Ivo drives the same direction so he lets Monti get on his car to travel together until they reach The Lighthouse.

Chapter 20

HiFive travels towards a huge stranded monument which is a contact place for many local groups, both dealers and criminals. He finds a crumpled piece of paper with a message from Mr Borrg about his representative (Monti) to come over to the Gasoliners' area very soon. Borrg says "He’s untouchable".
Ivo leaves PSI vault to go also towards the Gasoline Men region to do some business then he wants to turn towards the south. He sees a big silo surrounded with a wall. He learns it's The Colony of Rosary People who are armed and want to trade items of a little value. They offer unction and an opportunity for a confession (a way which let them learn of valuable places to rob them next). Ivo meets Father Director who lives in a luxury house and talks to Prayer 16 as well. "Prayer" followed by various numbers is a name of the people in the Colony. Father Director captures and rapes lonely women found in the wasteland to make them pregnant. Thus he's the only 'Father' in the Colony. Ivo also learns The Colony population is limited to 44 people. He suspects any additional or useless man or women must be sold or alternatively, killed. When he browses their stock he notices it's a selection of archaic, sexist guidebooks for sale.
He leaves The Colony and continues his drive to the Gasoliners' camp.

Chapter 19

Steel along with a local prostitute Rossi (whom he made pregnant) are joined by Ivo and his partner Starship to drive to KAPPA vault. They’re dropping Rossi to let her stay over there until the birth time, then her newly born will be escorted with other infants to SIGMA shelter.
A heavy looking, bullet and fire-proof car (Saracen model) passes them by. They recognize a regional drug dealer driving with his best security guy. They part ways with Steel’s team on the crossroads.
They buy medicine, condoms and drugs in local stores of KAPPA. While waiting in a line, Ivo pays attention to a guy with dreadlocks (Monti) whom he had never seen before but who talks to Zen in one of large corridors.
After this short trip, they move towards Tucovo caverns as Steel has a friend who can guide them around this agro-facility. They grow mushrooms along with vegetables in the hydroponic cultures out there. It’s a very expensive business and the only active in the entire north region, with stores and restaurants accessible to the customers. /The other place where they grow fruits and vegetables is the Ori monastery located on an island in the south; very little people are invited there/. When they approach, the area looks very much secured as if it was a prison or a governmental site. They can also see a rock wall with a big amount of holes filled with glass which looks quite intriguing. When Steel’s friend joins them, they drive inside of underground parking for a further facility exploration. This place is HUGE.

Chapter 18

Monti returns down the underground city under KAPPA. He visits a canteen where he's offered suspicious meat. He observes a group of scientists in the restaurant who apparently discovered something important. When they leave, he follows them. He then hacks into the laboratory computer to let Borrg download all the data. They learn about stolen supplies and contracts signed by the name M. Setin. Borrg orders Monti to contact Gasoliners and monks in Ori about an opportunity of trading. Monti leaves the underground through a mine elevator and returns to his room in KAPPA vault.

Chapter 17

Molok gives a special video camera to Ivo to document Gasoline Men - their cars, directions, behaviors etc. Ivo meets O'Brother who makes a presentation of old photos related to areas Ivo wished to learn about - Zoxi, ETA, Shrineville, The Canals, The Lighthouse, but also Village X people distilling water from mud to sell salt. O'Brother gives Ivo him two tasks - research Village X [yet to be named] in the deep south of the region to look for a missing PSI explorer (Wombat) and then to investigate a Discovery space shuttle which fell into the sea or rather into what’s left from the sea - an area of extremely deep mud. Ivo will receive help from army at Meadow Hole where he needs to travel to.

Chapter 16

HiFive with a partner drive a road down the south to the Lighthouse and sea. He’s interested to cooperate with an isolated group of monks living on the Ori island. They are supposed to run hidden hydro-farms and may have enough of goods to trade. While driving, they see a space junk falling along the road so they change their trip directions and get to the place where junk hits the ground. It turns out to be a rescue capsule lost by a well known space station. Since it’s still hot due to burning in the atmosphere they need to wait a few hours until it cools down.
The capsule fall had been noticed by others including a drug dealer Tassi whom they meet near the crash site. He collects St. Mary statues (owns over 1000 of them). He reveals the news about a virus found on a shipwreck at the seashore. HiFive realized he had been there before, without knowing of the disease. Tassi talks about the villagers who got sick and that he makes great money on trading medicine and drugs with them. He also tries to sell a new drug called Paw!Paw! to HiFive and talks about a sea of mud where villagers work around. When he leaves, HiFive and his partner open the capsule.

Chapter 15

Ivo goes downstairs to PSI vault Archives to use a multimedia stand. He’s looking for any piece of information about the south of the country: sea, lighthouse, village and other locations not clearly marked on his own maps. He learns about once rich now collapsed TETA vault with an amazing amount of modern technology buried underground.
He gets introduced to the Archives worker Mr O’Brother who wants to share a secret and so that he wants to meet Ivo face to face after his work hours. He also says he knows more about a secret connection between Shrineville (a prisoners camp) and the old ETA bunker.
Ivo also arranges a meeting with a local prostitute Rossi later this evening. She had hired him for the purpose of exploration job in a highly radiated area /Ivo cheats on her and delivers the thing to someone who pays him better/. He continues to seduce her to steal any more valuable information about a use of the thing he is supposed to look for.

Chapter 14

Ivo encounters Gasoliners near the radiated site and trades medicine with them. They mention Green'o'Bean camp and ETA vault. HiFive and Ivo decide to message
each other with a use of Sever's monument. HiFive gives Ivo a badge thanks to which he can explore areas occupied by Gasoline men without getting in troubles.
Ivo finds Rossie's laptop.

Chapter 13

Monti meets Ed Borrg, a chief of the underground city (who lives at the top of the mine) and learns about its not that old history. He’s given a task to hack a laboratory computer and negotiates his reward. He also learns he can’t sail to another part of the planet since there’s no sea, just a huge swamp and mud. He’s told to meet a local doctor who scans him for possible diseases or radiation. Still gets no clue about what caused the disaster on the surface but the doctor reveals the purpose of the secret laboratory in the vault above.

Chapter 12

In the meanwhile, Ivo is dealing with a group of Gasoline men who are attacking his car. He shots a few then barters some anti-radiation medical supplies for a bit of knowledge about nearby locations. Gasoliners tell him about a pre-WWII vault but its present inhabitants remain unknown. However, Ivo’s told that there are still automatic laser guns and cameras to kill him if he approaches too close. He decides to make a business deal with these men and keep it a secret since they are everybody enemies. Ivo continues his exploration trip to the most radiated zone of the region.

Chapter 11

In the meanwhile, Monti continues to research a secret level of KAPPA vault. He sees more and more radiated bodies wrapped in dirty sheets and locked in cells. He crawls inside a laboratory vent system and reaches another bathroom where he needs to wait until a lesbian scientists couple finishes making out.
The scientists test a special gas on a patient who becomes extremely skilled in math but goes nuts and kills them. The local security uses paralyzers and the show is finished. Monti leaves this accident area and continues to research the lab. He finds a computer with an iris recognition and uses a fake eye he finds in a drawer to access the data. A guard tells him to take a rest thinking he’s one of the lab employees.
Monti uses an elevator to go up and looks for another exit. He enters a cavern but the door is permanently shut. He sees a ladder leading down while walking along a little bridge. Something stinks really bad from the bottom of the den but he can’t see that far, it’s really dark there. He walks down the ladder having a T-shirt on his head due to this horrible stench. Finally, comes across a secret passage dug in the rocky wall but it still feels very far from the bottom.

He pretends a wanderer suffering a memory loss and gets into the vault. He learns about the Gasoline men attacks, Mastercard vs. Visa kids card game and comes across a mysterious event at the pub on Level 4. Soren, a chief of TAU vault tells Ivo a bit more about B4 area (the one highly radiated) and gives him an updated map.

Chapter 9

Molok however, adds him a task to visit TAU vault and learn why they hadn't stayed in touch recently. Louise tells Ivo about SIGMA vault where they keep all the newborn and educate a bit older children. They have a little encounter with a severely wounded Samuel Svirnov, a former boss of a radio station on their way to the Factory.

Chapter 7

Molok sits in his room in PSI and sums up the last few weeks he spent underground. He reads reports of falling satellites and other space junk left without any control. He updates his diaries and also tries to figure out what actually had happened on the surface. He recalls the last day before he made it into the vault.

Chapter 6

When Ivo returns to PSI, Steel teaches him about the locations with a use of a detailed map. He also tells him about a value of specific items, which should be taken to the vault and which left alone. He reveals a few more details about B4 zone, where Ivo is supposed to drive to in search for Rossie's laptop. Steel mentions explorers from TAU vault who got into the area and suffered from a post-radiation sickness. He also talks about Zoxi and Shrineville to keep Ivo away of these locations.
Ivo visits a warehouse at the lowest level of PSI where he finds his personal items confiscated on his entry to PSI. He's attracted to a girl who works down there, and it seems an attraction is reciprocated. Soon after Starship tells him to visit her in her room.
Rossie gives Ivo a few more details about her old house and equips him with appropriate jumpsuit and anti-radiation medicine called Xadir. Later, when Ivo visits a mysterious girl met in the warehouse, she quickly shows him her interest. She then introduces two local hackers and tells Ivo to bring her an item - Rossie's laptop. Her and the guys try to discover what had caused the disaster and they suspect it started at The Institute.

Chapter 5

Ivo goes on his first exploration route accompanied by more experienced, ex-sportswoman Eclipse. They make it to a nearby supermarket to loot and go back to PSI vault. However, they find naked, wounded Zen and her dead now lover Igor. These two were explorers as well, caught by surprise by a few local bandits. Eclipse decides to take Zen to KAPPA, a former mine turned into a hospital and a vault which is hidden in a rocky valley.

Chapter 4

Ivo's awaken by a local prostitute Rossie who looks for a guy to do a job for her. She will pay with her body if he brings her a laptop. It's located in a highly radiated area near The Institute of Science where she lived nearby and worked for. She wants her laptop back as she has her diaries and pictures of old lovers on its hard drive. Ivo, given a hot foretaste of the reward, decides to take the job.

Chapter 3

This is PSI vault. Built for rich, abandoned, bought back and re-built. Ivo finds it by a lucky coincidence and learns that many things value increased as a bartering not money matters. He buys himself an access into the vault and meets Molok, the master Archiver. Ivo's offered a job and accommodation but he needs to become an explorer to bring useful stuff into the vault. He recognizes a worker, Mike Setin, who was an ex of his gf Barb. Ivo will share a room with Steel, a former mercenary.

He decides to go back to his house, collect the most important things including his guns and tells Barb to hide in a cellar with food and other stuff. He's hit by a car on his way home and taken to a hospital then put to a cryogenic capsule since his broken arm got an infection. It was the only way to avoid an amputation. He was put in a temporary coma then woke up when Heatwave struck. He watched the disaster spreading across the hospital from his capsule, then he is forced to leave when power is cut off. When he got outside, a range of apocalyptic views made him pass out.
