There is very little known about this band except for the fact that Purge was established in the state of Florida. They were also active on their local music scene during the middle of the 1990's when they released the You Know You Want To album. Moreover, there's nothing unusual about an industrial rock band who makes meaningful music while remaining somewhat obscure after 16 years. Their only album release (or at least the only one I know of) can found by music collectors only.

You Know You Want To brings 13 industrial rock songs written and performed by Troy Dovey (vocals, keyboards, guitar, programming), Anthony Angueira (guitar, bass) and Alexei Zaitsev (keyboards, guitar, programming, mixing and production).

The 1990's were a golden age for industrial rock music as well as science fiction movies. The opening track entitled "Time Warp" would definitely match the Hardware soundtrack. It seems that the song might have even been inspired by facets of science fiction media from the 1990's as well.

Old school sounding samples mixed with distorted, crossover guitars ("Hedlok", "My World", "Purge Baby Purge") bring with them the echoes of coldwave music. "Panties" and "Move On" are the two best tracks as well as most representative songs of the band on this album due to their fiery and noisy guitar driven arrangements. There are also more guitar driven tunes with less sampling like "Chains" and "Feel This". The tracklist also includes some solely electronic mixes and compositions such as "DTX-69", "Panties (T-Ride Mix)", "Morpheus" and "Track 12".

A solid concept speaks for this album very well. The songs are original, dirty, atmospheric and memorable. They will surely make any rivethead happy. Besides, keep in mind that the album artwork and design matches the industrial music genre impeccably well. You Know You Want To is a must have album for every true industrial rock music fan since similar tunes are only likely to be found on albums from the 1990's that were released by bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Testify, Schnitt Acht, Diatribe, Contagion or Numb. It should be noted that you can't buy this album on a typical online store unless you look it up on Discogs or eBay amongst the CD collections of sellers.
