Filth Healer Pigmata is not simply a re-issue of the "Pigmartyr" album published under the moniker of Watts (see NINa’s review), but it is a revised edition, with bonus tracks and different artwork. The version published by Grand Recordings in 2004 unfortunately had many problems of distribution (packages lost), delays, and a bad mastering. Having both versions of the album, the feedback is easy: Pigmata offers a sound that is clearer and cleaner, thanks to the revision of Isaac Glendering of Cesium:137. In addition to the remastering there are 3 new tracks: "God Rod" is infected by Watt’s big love: "The Mambo", while "On The Slaughterfront" could be the soundtrack to a perverse and sick version of Casablanca. "Filth Healer" well grafts in the context of the album. There are also two tracks that have already appeared in another form: "Junky", the fruit of collaboration with Bryan Black, already included in the Haloblack album "Throb", and "Arbor Vitate" already published by Shaft. An excellent album that fortunately has suffered corrections due to be appreciated. Perhaps one of the loudest of Watts’ artistic releases. (Marco Gariboldi. Proofreading: Scott M. Owens) |
