Victory Pill |Corporate Punishment Rec., 2007|

1. Downfall, 2. Another Clone, 3. Thin Line, 4. Worse Case Scenario, 5. Odds Get Even, 6. Red Pill, 7. King And Country, 8. Set In Stone, 9. Free Fall, 10. Wasted On Me, 11. Salvo, 12. Scaremonger

The musicians who solidified most of their work in bands like Pitchshifer go well in other ventures, while the newest Pitchshifter album has been shifted from a year to year and seems it'd be simply The Best of compilation. M. Clayden has been a member of a metal-core band This Is Menace for the last few years but a former Pitchshifter's guitarist Jim Davies founded his own band Victory Pill after a short cooperation with Prodigy.

The announcements of the newest CD were posted a long time ago mostly on their Myspace profile along with the newest songs which sounded really cool. Finally the album has seen a day of light as a CD and downloadable files to buy on f.e. iTunes (also in Poland). There are 12 songs on the album, mostly guitar driven but you won't go wrong thinking of electronics as well, so that 'industrial rock' term fits the best to their music. I'm into Another Clone and Red Pill a lot, but I like also Set in Stone for its predatory guitars and Pitchshifter-like song atmospheres. Free Fall is also a well composed song in terms of the construction and samples used in the right spots. Salvo could be a theme song for Victory Pill best recognized at the band shows. The album ends up with Scaremonger what is a very good choice for a computer game background, where guitars play the main role.

The album is a high professional release so I do recommend to go, buy & enjoy it.
