Ungod |Columbia, 1994|
Lost, Control, Nothing, ACF, Lies, Ungod, Throw, Violent Mood Swings, Red on White, Can't Happen Here
The debut albums usually are the best as for the dynamics and the band engagement in making their ideas happen, but they lack high mastering and production quality. It is related to Ungod as well. There are lots of good ideas released with raw passion. The most sexiest band leader A.D.1994 - Christopher Hall has got a bit melancholy voice and as for industrial rock music, I take it always personally as a pain in the ass. It doesn't fit to the music, but on the other hand it gives such a typical vibe to Stabbing Westward music. They worked out their characteristic sound based on industrial samples, predatory guitars and a melancholy voices. Something to be put between Filter and Gravity Kills CDs on the shelf. (

This album gained a lot of good reviews at all. The music sounds predatory with an some add-ons of melancholy, darkness and dispair. I loved such songs like: I Don't Believe, Inside You, Crushing Me, Slipping Away. (

Stabbing Westward |Koch Poland, 2001|
So Far Away, Perfect, I Remember, Wasted, Happy, The Only Thing, Angel, Breathe You In, High, Television
The guys entered rock mainstream, industrial rock no more. The guitar driven songs sound softer, lighter but also with that typical for Stabbing Westward melancholy. Seems like not many samples used there are, if any at all. I liked Television only. I got an impression that Christopher Hall, the Stabbing Westward leader changed his voice timbre besides his hair colour, and sings using higher tones... No revelations, guitar driven music, but I don't recommend listening to that album right after Ungod. (
