Tone|?, 2000|
Filth Parade, Glitter, Chasing The Flag, Naive, Old Man
The band is almost unknown but has released 3 albums so far. There are five kicking ass songs that's a pity there are only the five :) Vey much industrial rock music, a bit of NIN (Chasing The Flag), Gravity Kills or Filter (Filth Parade), Nihil (Glitter), Dope (Naive) and Treponem Pal (vocals in Old Man). Gloomy, emotional, trance, not too heavy not to soft. Each song is balanced well, what's more it's not that easy to remember refrains. I loved the end of Chasing The Flag song, but the best is Glitter for its coldwave-like bass sound. Excellent work! The CD was available only by ordering it on mp3.com and was only around for a very very limited time so if you own one consider yourself lucky because it's VERY rare! (

Ressurected |COP International, 1998|
1.Glitter, 2.Tripped, 3.Rattler, 4.Something Real, 5.Chasing The Flag, 6.The Fall, 7.Tronic, 8.Sex, 9.Insect, 10.Hallucination Child, 11.Toil And Charm
This is a debut CD containing songs known from a very rare promo Tone as well as a variety of other interesting tracks. Some of them could be described as industrial rock-like but the band never tried to keep their music in any stiff frames. The other good point is that they never used dialogues cut out of movies so often. How long should we listen to quotations of movies by Kubrick, Craven, or not less famous regarding citations - George W. Bush? Imbue didn't fall into a template fortunately. The best songs are Glitter and Chasing The Flag. Ric in one of his interviews said about the artwork for the CD and how he was enjoying with it. Look at it yourself, the photography by Katie Lake is very meaningful, isn't it? I see a flower and .. tits ;) You? (

Filth Parade |COP International, 2000|
Procession, Filth Parade, Glass Rose, Trigger Happy, Few & Far Between, Mother's High, Diamond Sunset, Postergirl, Naive, Old Man, Preprogrammed
It's the second album in Imbue's discography bringing a variety of moods and impressions. Maybe Imbue as a band wasn't that much famous but may be considered as a band which music the CD collectors should put just next to Die Warzau or Sister Machine Gun because of the non schematic compositions. Thanx to Imbue we got Few & Far Between with Texas music like guitar riffs or Diamond Sunset with dark basslines you may find in some of cold wave or gothic rock bands music.
Ric Nigel's voice is very recognizable, very good, emotional and harsh, so I just have to say he wastes his talent a bit in The Pefects, an electronic and guitars driven band which he's been in these days. I mean The Prefects' music sounds interesting and they have some ass kicking songs but Ric's voice is just made for heavy guitar driven music. Very emotional, passionate, can sing about both love and hatred for sure with the same credibility. I guess we'll hear from Ric Peters some time in the future regarding yet another project :) (

Ritual in Bloom |Underground, Inc., 2004|
The Switch, Get Back, Hypershift, Blue Illusion, Taste Of Heaven, Serene, Habit, Center Of Madness, Season Of The Fates, Ritual In Bloom, Landmine, Puppet, The Dour Tides, Inside Outside, Idol, Inflatable Replaceable Heart, Of Now
Imbue was an American band founded by Ric Peters (aka Ric Nigel) in the early 90's. There are 3 full length albums in their official discography, but I find Ritual of Bloom, the final record released before the band quit the best of them. It blends rock guitar driven influences with other styles of music adding interesting tones to the whole. It's not pure industrial rock album for sure, because of those other styles mingled with guitars and electronics, but of course such songs like Hypershift, Taste of Heaven, The Switch, Habit or Idol are considered to stand close to the efforts of, let's say Stabbing Westward. My favourite track of the song is Puppet, mysterious, passionate and kind of angry it its dense atmosphere. There are also a few ambient or ballad-esque songs on Ritual In Bloom, so if you look for albums with a variety of tunes, take this one. The additional advantage is the CD artwork because it's one of the most recognizable images - there is a big macro kind of picture of a blackberry with a few blue, almost glassy seeds on a white background.
