Industrial metal 1nch Punch band co-founder Kevin Instone died at 33 on Feb. 4th, 2012 in Austin, TX due to losing a battle with addiction. Read this blog post for further details or click Extended news.

The writing process, as usual, took off where it left off, and we began tracking new material. By the end of the year, we had begun reconstructing the live aspect of 1nch Punch. We had recruited Chris Jones and Michael Lloyd from the Austin band Lug, who were about to disband. We all had been in bands together before, and the chemistry and timing were just right. Kevin had already begun talks with Austin's very own Skrew regarding a possible tour, as well as talking with his long time friend Al Jourgensen, about producing the new album. Everything seemed to be looking up...
Tuesday, January 31, 2012. 1nch Punch had its first rehearsal in over 4 years. Kevin and I were on cloud 9 afterwards, and stayed up most the night talking about the future. By then, Kevin had moved out, and was staying with his girlfriend while looking for a house of his own. We had planned on getting a bigger place together, but it fell through, and he needed a space of his own. He stayed the night, and we spent all of Wednesday continuing to talk about the future and just having a good time. After dinner, I dropped him off at his car, we talked about getting together Friday night, and with his signature smile, said our goodbyes for the last time. I would not see Kevin alive again.
6:07am Saturday, February 4, 2012. I received a voice mail from Kevin's mother, asking me to please call her. At first, I didn't think much of it, because it wasn't uncommon for her to call, asking if he were with me, but the urgency in her voice said otherwise. After receiving the news, that familiar wave of numbness that we all have experienced when hearing any kind of devastating news, swept over me.
